An Exceptional Cow Hollow Residence

Drawing inspiration from an earlier era, Handel Architects combines grand architecture with sophisticated interiors. Each expansive residence at Union House marries classic details, modern styling, and finishes of the finest quality, resulting in a collection of rare and generously proportioned homes.

Residence 5C features oversized picture frame windows, high ceilings, and European wide-plank oak flooring throughout — environments that are meticulously refined and equally timeless. It sits at an ideal convergence of San Francisco's most coveted neighborhoods: Pacific Heights, Russian Hill, Cow Hollow, and the Marina.

Offered Fully Furnished. Since purchase, the seller has used the residence lightly as a third home. A brand-new furniture package, custom closet system, and motorized shades were installed after closing — all in excellent condition and included in the sale. A turnkey opportunity for the right buyer. Interiors styled by Claudia Morton of Every Little Thing — view her portfolio.

I represented the buyers on the original sale of this residence and have personal familiarity with every detail of both the unit and the building. Reach out directly for the full package, financials, and a private showing schedule.

Architecture & Materiality

Designed by Handel Architects, the building's seven-story massing is broken into a series of nested volumes that step down toward Union Street — mediating the transition from the dense Van Ness corridor to the lower-scale shops along Union. Warm-toned precast concrete is paired with bronze cladding for an exterior that reads contemporary in form but contextual in material.

The grand entry is lit from above by a bronze canopy that extends out over the sidewalk, and the chandelier in the double-height lobby acts as a beacon visible from the street. Inside, the lobby "recreates the feeling of stepping inside the quiet grandeur of a European luxury hotel" — framed in panels of fumed eucalyptus, several wrapped in off-white leather and arranged in tight clusters.

Residences continue the language: high ceilings, oversized picture-frame windows, and European wide-plank oak flooring across every home.
